  • Check for any wear and tear on the wire rope.

Guide shoes and rails 

  • Check that the guide shoe is tight.
  • Check that the guide rails and shoes are in cooperation.
  • Check how much oil is in the guiding shoe’s oil box. Maintaining the oil level at roughly two-thirds of the oil cup’s height is recommended. The oil box is securely fixed, and the oil is clean.
  • Test the control checks and lubricate the rails.
  • Check the distance between the guide rails and the guide shoe lining. There will be greater vibration the wider the separation.
  • Check the effectiveness of the buffers on both rail sides.

Traction machine reduce 

  • Check the gears; they won’t function properly if there are any tears or gaps in them.
  • The oil tank must be leak-free. Use kerosene oil to clean it, then top off the tank with pure oil and adjust the reducer’s oil pool’s thickness.
  • Inspect and tighten all of the bolts on the traction machine’s base.
  • Keeping the oil’s temperature below 60 degrees is crucial.
  • Keep the reducer’s component temperatures at or above 80 °C.

Elevator brake

  • Clear the brakes any dust or buildup.
  • Inspect and repair any broken brake discs.
  • Tighten the brake fastening bolts after observing any signs of looseness.
  • There should be a reasonable amount of air space or gap, up to 0.02″ between the brake pad and discs.
  • Check and release the fixing screws that secure the brakes to the motor’s end shield.

Traction sheave 

  • Check that the sheave groove’s working surface is smooth.
  • Check that the wire rope positioned in the traction sheave’s groove is the same depth.
  • Check if the wire rope in the sheave groove slips and falls to the bottom.
  • To assess the condition of the shafts and bearings, run a slip detection test on the traction wheel.

Governor of speed and safety gear

  • Engine oil should be used once a month to lubricate the connecting rod mechanism and safety gear.
